January 30, 2009

Since its Friday, I thought I would post a few websites that I have found this week that are worth passing on.
Here are some of my fav:
http://www.playauditorium.com/ – Very very cool “game” which has you directing beams of light into sounds. If you are an audio junkie like myself you will dig this…
http://www.justhearit.com/ – Try it, its awesome. You can find some rare stuff here…
http://de-war.de/eurekacarpark.html – wicked perspectives…
www.neave.com/lab/planetarium/ – pure awesomeness…
Have fun!

Year in review…

I always like to end each year with an interactive Google map of where I have traveled in the past year for photo shoots. It helps me look at where I have been and compare it to where I was the year before.
This map is interactive, you can click on a pin and it should tell you where I was and what month.
Hope everyone is keeping their New Year’s Resolutions!!!

Piqueonline.com
December 1, 2008
The latest issue of Piqueonline.com went up today. Here are a few of the shots I took for this issue.
This concept spanned across several different styles of fashion photography. From the beginning we see the “beauty” shot followed by the “commercial” shot than finishing with the “editorial” shot. We had another shoot planned but things just didn’t come together on it and was decided to be left out. Be sure to check out www.piqueonline.com and PIQUE: TATTLE - for more behind the scenes info.

Piqueonline.com
November 26, 2008
I am very excited to announce that a high fashion website I have been doing some work for has finally launched. Point your browsers to www.piqueonline.com and take a look at the website. This is a really cool thing for Kansas City, the game plan is to give the Kansas City fashion a centralized location and help unite and boost the fashion community here in town. I shot the story “Boutique Yourself” which is the leading image on the page this week. Keep an eye out for the upcoming weeks for more info and new photos. Be sure to bookmark www.piqueonline.comand keep checking back for the updates.
Check out the Pique Blog for behind the scenes shots and more of whats going on with the project.

B.A.C.A. – Bikers Against Child Abuse
November 26, 2008
Last month I had a shoot for Urban Times here in Kansas City about a group of bikers who have started a chapter of B.A.C.A. (Bikers Against Child Abuse). Check out the online story here.
As a photographer I get put into a lot of situations and meet a lot of different people, sometimes you never know what you are going to walk into. As I pull up and park, I got out of my car to see both sides of the streets lined with chromed out custom built bikes and the sound of heavy rumble from the engines pulling in. Walking downstairs to the meeting I stop a random guy to look for my contact, he points me in the direction of the meeting and tells me to ask for “Chief.” I proceed to the room around the corner without any hesitation.
Walking into the meeting I look across the room and all I see are black leather vest with a big fist on them, facial hair, do-rags and a ton of eyes looking at me. It was a lot like the scene in Pee-Wee Herman’s Big Adventure when he walks into the biker bar, for a split second I stop in my tracks and think “What the hell did I just walk into”. I quickly drag my stuff to the back of the room and set up for the shoot. It was a little intimidating at first while shooting during the meeting but soon everyone got use to me being there and ignored me after a while. Once the meeting was over I went outside to make a couple portraits of the bikers and get some detail shots of the bikes and an overall look and feel of the type of people involved with B.A.C.A. All of the bikers I met were open for me to shoot their bikes, logos or anything else I needed. They were very helpful and open to me pestering them for a photo.
The bikers do whatever they can to help these abused children by giving them protection, attending court dates with the kids and anything else that can help out with. I overheard a story about a group of the bikers who camped out in front of a abused child’s house to give the child protection, I thought that was very cool of them. It is a sad subject when dealing with abused children but this story really shines a bright light on what these people do for these kids.
Fitness photo shoot…
October 29, 2008
Fitness photos are fun to shoot. In mid-October I had a chance to work with a personal trainer from here in Kansas City to create stock fitness photos for my collection. We shot a few of these jumping/running shots at the studio with a light mounted to the ceiling. It took quite a few frames to get this look but after all of that jumping I am happy to have this shot to post that I hope to soon submit them to my stock agency in the next couple of weeks. I recently updated my website with this image so be sure to take a look at www.aaronlindberg.com to see it on the site.

Shoulder shot…
October 16, 2008
Occasionally when I throw my camera over my shoulder between shoots I accidentally hit the vertical shutter release. Most of the time the images are unrecognizable, way out of focus, etc… this shot was worth taking a second look at so I decided to throw it up on the blog.
